American National Bank of Texas Expands Opportunities and Access to Affordable Homeownership

Ignite Home Loan Program, ongoing education series and new mortgage loan office in Cedar Hill provide support to local communities

American National Bank of Texas (ANBTX) announced today a reduced interest rate, lower down payment mortgage solution for homebuyers, which is available in designated markets across ANBTX’s North Texas footprint, including majority-minority neighborhoods in Dallas County.

The Ignite Home Loan Program, available exclusively from ANBTX Mortgage, aims to help individuals and families in eligible areas obtain an affordable home loan. Features of the loan program include up to 40-year terms with the ability to finance up to 97% LTV (loan-to-value), lower credit guidelines and a forgivable grant up to $7,500 from ANBTX to help pay closing costs and other pre-paid expenses.

In addition, the trusted North Texas community bank has also recently opened a mortgage loan office in Cedar Hill to expand its reach in southern Dallas County. The new mortgage office —combined with an expansion of the bank’s popular homebuyer education series — shows its commitment to serving the needs of all communities across its footprint.

“Having this mortgage solution, along with additional homebuyer seminars and a new mortgage loan office in Cedar Hill, lets us strengthen our presence in a key area of Dallas County, but most importantly, we enhance our efforts to reach, educate and help local homebuyers,” said Robert Hulsey, president and chief executive officer of American National Bank of Texas.

ANBTX’s homebuyer education series launched in March of 2022 and continues throughout 2023, with seminars held in March and May of this year in Cedar Hill and Mesquite respectfully. Upcoming sessions will be held at Hughes Group Real Estate Services in Desoto (Aug. 26), Cornerstone Baptist Church in southern Dallas (Sept. 18) and in Plano (Oct. 16).

The instructor-led course guides participants through the process of buying — and owning — a home. Topics include estimating what’s affordable, reviewing potential loan options and understanding all the steps, from applying to underwriting to closing. Each seminar also offers attendees the ability to speak directly with a local loan officer for personalized assistance or more specialized support.
