Local Business and Community Leaders Complement Experienced Board
The American National Bank of Texas (ANBTX) announced two new additions to its board of directors, Suzanne Cruz-Sewell and Dennis Cail. Ms. Cruz-Sewell currently serves as assistant vice president of business diversity at DFW International Airport, and Mr. Cail is co-founder and chief executive officer of Zirtue, the leading relationship-based lending application with a mission to drive financial equity and inclusion.
“As one of the oldest independent banks in Texas, it’s important that we bring new insights and perspectives from professional and civic leaders,” said Robert Hulsey, president and chief executive officer of American National Bank of Texas. “Their experience will be vital as we work across our markets to expand access to financial services while continuing to fulfill our mission to foster growth and strengthen the communities in which we live and work.”
Cruz-Sewell, a business development and supplier diversity executive, has a long- standing track record for creating access and advocating for small business enterprises. Cruz-Sewell is a Women’s Business Enterprise Hall of Fame inductee and serves on the boards of the Women’s Business Council Southwest (WBCS) and the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GDHCC).
“I’m passionate about building communities,” said Cruz-Sewell. “And I’m honored to join this board that’s focused on making our communities stronger by making businesses stronger.”
Cail, a Navy veteran, has had executive roles at IBM, PwC, Accenture, and Uptown Financial and has an extensive background in technology and finance. He also serves on the boards of Dallas Regional Chamber, Goodwill and the YMCA Foundation and is an emeritus member of the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Alumni Board of Directors.
“I look forward to being part of such an established bank — and board— while we help drive financial inclusion locally,” Cail said.
Said Hulsey: “Both Suzanne and Dennis will be valuable additions. I’m confident they’ll make an immediate impact and help us create more opportunities for businesses and families across the metroplex.”
