Robert Hulsey
Robert Hulsey joined American National Bank of Texas in June of 1976. He worked in various operations and lending positions at the bank before being named president and chief executive officer in 1989.

When asked about why American National Bank of Texas has been so successful, Robert says: “We truly care about our customers and communities.”

With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Robert enjoys helping his clients succeed. Before joining American National Bank of Texas, he worked at Texas Instruments for six years.

Robert has served as president and director of the Greater Terrell United Way, chairman of the Terrell Park board, board member of the Terrell Heritage Society, director in Cultural Arts of Terrell, and director and chairman of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce. Robert has also served as director of Texas Bankers Association, chairman of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, chairman of the Services Board of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, and director of Southwestern Automated Clearing House Association.  

He was elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Board of Directors for a three-year term which began on January 1, 2021. Additionally, Robert is currently a member of the Global Accreditation Committee which is an international accrediting body for college programs in project management. Robert is a past treasurer, vestry member, and senior warden for the Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd in Terrell. He currently attends St. Andrews Episcopal Church in McKinney where he has served as vestry member and senior warden. He is also a trustee of Episcopal Foundation of Dallas and a trustee of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas Corporation. Robert currently serves as president of the Terrell ISD Excellence Foundation and vice president of the A. Fern Norville Shelter Foundation.

Robert has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania at the Wharton Graduate School.
