If you have disclosed sensitive information in a phishing attack or believe that any of your confidential financial information has been obtained or stolen, you should also contact the authorities as well as the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) to discuss whether you need to place a fraud alert on your credit file.
